Praiano

Having restored our equilibrium and some of our dignity, we set out today to explore Praiano, organise a bus to Sorrento for our full day tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum, and maybe have a swim.  We took the orange bus to the town centre (not a central area as we would imagine, but a group of shops along the narrow and steep climb that is Praiano.  The tourist information office was very helpful, but we have a very short time between arriving and our tour departing tomorrow.  As this is peak season, what are the odds of arriving on time?  We are leaving this dilemma in the hands of the gods and live in hope that we make the connection in time.
As it was midday by the time we were free to do as we pleased, we took a local bus to Positano, which is an adventure in itself.  Our driver was wonderful, talking to everyone and in between that praying with his hands together as he yelled to everyone on the bus to squeeze up so that more passengers could get on.  Sardines come to mind when I think of how we were packed in!  We loved it.  You just have to let go of the fact that you are hot and sweaty and realise that everyone else is too.

Positano is everything the brochure says it is.  We loved it anyway.  After a quick dip in the invigorating Mediterranean and some window shopping we caught the bus back home.
